Videos are re-encoded with your browser's own video encoder (H.264 MP4, or VP9 WebM where H.264 isn't available) at up to 720p and 30 frames per second. Audio files become a mono MP3, plenty for speech. A smaller file doesn't lower the tokens an AI counts for video or audio (they count by duration), but it uploads faster and fits the size limit.
