Who is responsible
The data controller is the owner of token-saver.es, contactable at pruthjperez@gmail.com. This policy follows the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and Spanish Organic Law 3/2018 (LOPDGDD).
What we do not collect
All tools run entirely in your browser. The PDFs, web pages, code, images and text you process are not uploaded to us or stored by us. We have no user accounts, contact forms, newsletters, analytics, advertising or tracking.
Hosting
The website is hosted on GitHub Pages, a service of GitHub, Inc. (United States). Like any web server, GitHub may log technical data such as your IP address, browser type and the pages requested, to deliver the site and keep it secure. We do not have access to these logs. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in running a secure website (GDPR art. 6.1.f). GitHub's processing, including international transfers, is described in the GitHub General Privacy Statement.
Optional features that contact third parties
Only if you use them:
- Web to Markdown → URL: the address you enter and your IP address are sent to Jina Reader (Jina AI), which fetches the page and returns its content. See the terms and privacy policy on jina.ai. The “Paste content” and “HTML” options work fully offline.
- Token counter → Exact count for Claude: the text being counted and the API key you enter are sent directly from your browser to Anthropic's API. Anthropic processes them under your own Anthropic account terms; see the Anthropic privacy policy.
The legal basis is that you ask for the feature (GDPR art. 6.1.b and 6.1.f). We never receive this data.
Browser extension
The Token Saver browser extension works the same way: files and text are converted and counted inside your browser tab and are never sent to us or to anyone else. It only runs on claude.ai, chatgpt.com and chat.openai.com, which it needs to read the chat box, the files you drop or paste there and the visible messages (to count tokens). It makes no network requests. It keeps three on/off settings and a running total of tokens saved in the browser's extension storage, on your device only. Removing the extension deletes them.
Cookies and local storage
This website does not use cookies. It stores a few settings in your browser's local storage, only on your device, so they are never sent to us:

These items are strictly necessary for features you ask for, so no consent banner is needed (LSSI-CE art. 22.2 and the ePrivacy Directive). You can delete them at any time by clearing this site's data in your browser settings.
Your rights
You have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict or object to the processing of your personal data, and to data portability. Because we do not hold personal data about visitors, in most cases there will be nothing to return or delete, but you can write to pruthjperez@gmail.com with any request. You can also lodge a complaint with the Spanish Data Protection Agency (AEPD).
Children
The website is not directed at children and does not knowingly process children's data.
Changes
We will update this policy if the website starts processing data in a new way, for example if analytics or ads are added. The date at the top shows the latest version.
